(By the way IRL stands for in real life)

My prediction – Draymond Green
IRL – Draymond Green

This award was basically between Rudy Gobert and Draymond Green. Draymond Green got the advantage because he led the Warriors to the best defense in the league. Also, Draymond was good at blocks and steals while Rudy Gobert was only good at blocks. He also became the only person to have a triple double with steals, rebounds, and assists.

My prediction – Malcolm Brogdon
IRL – Malcolm Brogdon

This was an easy one. Check my post about Malcolm Brogdon if you haven’t already. Brogdon outplayed Dario Saric throughout the season and led the Bucks to 14 more wins than the 76ers had. He also had better all around stats than Saric and was pretty decent at shooting. Brogdon was a big reason why Giannis Antetokounmpo won Most Improved Player. He also had to adapt to playing PG after playing SG for his whole career as a basketball player.

6th Man of The Year

My prediction – Eric Gordon
IRL – Eric Gordon

This award was between Eric Gordon and Andre Iguodala. Eric Gordon just had a better year. True, Iguodala did better on defense but Eric Gordon scored an amazing 16.6 points off the bench and was a 3 point gunner. Winning the 3 point contest over the best 3 point shooters in the league, (such as Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker and many more).

My Prediction – Giannis Antetokounmpo
IRL – Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo was clearly the Most Improved Player in my opinion. Nikola Jokic was only in his second year and Rudy Gobert didn’t improve as much as Giannis Antetokounmpo did. Check out the Giannis Antetokounmpo post that I have if you haven’t already. Giannis had a big jump with his stat line this year, higher than all of the other nominees. He easily won MIP.

Coach of The Year

My prediction – Mike D’antoni
IRL – Mike D’antoni
This one was very easy for me. Erik Spoelstra’s Heat didn’t even make the playoffs and Greg Popovich’s Spurs had an almost identical team from last year and still had a worse record. But the Rockets lost their second best player (Dwight Howard), and everyone thought they wouldn’t even make the playoffs. But Mike D’antoni led them from barely making the 8th seed last year to being the 3rd best team in the league on his first year with the Rockets! He deserved Coach of The year.

My Prediction – James Harden
IRL – Russell Westbrook
This was the only prediction that I got wrong. I personally thought that James Harden will win because he led his team to a better record and made his teammates around him better, but I got to give it up for Russell Westbrook. He broke Oscar Robertson’s record of Triple Doubles in a season with 42 and averaged a triple double. And became the second player to ever average a triple double. He truly did earn it.

The Award Show yesterday was very fun. I honestly think that this was the funniest part 👇      👇      👇
